How long will my installation take?

The time it takes to install your smart home will depend on the complexity of your design, though it generally takes no longer than 1 week to install and fully configure an average home.

 

Can I cancel my installation if I change my mind?

If you wish to discuss any changes to your installation, then give us a call on 0191 303 6273 and we will be happy to help you with this. Depending on the changes being made, it could affect both the price and timing of your installation, all will be explained to you when you call us.

 

I am concerned about my privacy and security?

Being concerned is only natural, but we take the necessary steps to ensure your smart home is protected, by applying a range of different security protocols. You will always be asked for a username and password when logging in to your smart home from a new device. Multi-Factor Authentication will be enabled for all users to add a secondary layer of protection. Finally, when accessing your smart home remotely your data will remain private and encrypted to ensure it is kept secure.

 

Can I access my smart home when I am away?

An application can be downloaded onto your mobile device so you can monitor and interact with your smart home no matter where you are in the world. The application can be setup on an unlimited number of devices, meaning every member of your household can utilise this feature.

 

What happens if I already own some smart devices?

We can integrate the majority of smart home devices on the market into our system, meaning the smart devices you currently own will still work as intended. This will help to declutter your mobile device, as we combine everything into a single application, allowing you to control every device in your home from one location.

 

How will a smart home benefit me?

Smart homes come with a whole host of different benefits, all of them aimed at improving your daily lifestyle. Being able to control and monitor your home remotely is viewed as the greatest benefit, as no matter where you are in the world you can access your security cameras to keep a close eye on your home or drop in on the family. You can be notified immediately if a fire is detected or if there’s a water leak in your home. A smart security system will alert you and your family if an intruder is detected, or if someone approaches your property at an unusual time.

How expensive is a smart home?

Unfortunately, there is no straight answer to this question, as smart homes can be as simple or complex as you desire. The price will be completely dependent on your specifications and the number of devices you are willing to purchase. Will a smart home actually save me money?

It has been shown that turning your house into a smart home can actually reduce your energy usage by around 30%. This 30% reduction in energy would create an annual saving of around £450, with the potential to save even more. Smart thermostats are the greatest energy savers, saving on average £128 per year.

 

What happens when you leave?

After your installation is complete, you will be given a tour of your new smart home where we will explain exactly what we have done and how it all works. If you opted for the smart phone application or the wall mounted tablet, we will give you a demonstration of these in action and explain how to operate them.
