Home automation for London homes
London homes bring particular challenges, and most of them come down to working within what is already there.
- Apartments and mansion blocks. Thick party walls and concrete slabs make Wi-Fi difficult, so we design the network first, with wired access points wherever a cable can be run. Building managers and freeholders often need method statements and agreed working hours, which we provide.
- Period houses. Many older London homes have no neutral wire at the switch. Our Uxbridge project shows how we delivered full smart lighting inside and out without opening walls or disturbing original finishes.
- Full refurbishments. When a property is stripped back, we can cable for everything. In a Mayfair flat on the edge of Hyde Park, every device was hidden and the whole home runs from one app.

How we work in London
Our team is based in the North East and travels to London and the South East for every stage that needs us on site: the design and survey visit, installation and handover. Typical time on site is one to three weeks. Travel and accommodation are agreed transparently before contract. Day-to-day support is delivered remotely, so most issues are resolved without a visit, and our aftercare plans include on-site call-outs where needed.

Common questions
Do you need the freeholder's permission to install a smart home in a London flat?
Many leases require landlord or freeholder consent for alterations, particularly anything affecting the structure, communal areas or the building's electrics. Check your lease. Most of our work is inside the flat, and we provide the method statements building managers usually ask for.
Can you install smart lighting in a London period home without rewiring?
Usually, yes. We specialise in older homes with no neutral wire at the switch, using retrofit modules and switches that avoid chasing walls.
